10. The Armor of God (Ephesians 6)
A very long time ago, a war started in the spiritual world. This is a battle nosotros cannot see. It is fought between Satan'southward evil armies of darkness and God's proficient armies of light. It is a unsafe war that threatens all of God's children. But God wants us to fight in this battle as dauntless soldiers in His army, so He has made for united states powerful armor. This armor covers united states from head to toe, protecting u.s.a. from every danger we face. It is given to us past God'due south Holy Spirit, and we can read well-nigh it in the book of Ephesians.
Ephesians teaches united states that Satan is a sneaky liar. He loves to flim-flam united states into doing things that hurt the people we love and injure the center of God. Boxing is dangerous and can fill our hearts with fear. For this reason, God has given us the breastplate of righteousness. He wants to embarrass u.s.a. and make us experience like fools. He wants our sin to send us running from God'southward love. But Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, and because of His death, our hearts are covered with God'southward forgiveness. Through Jesus, everything sin made incorrect, God can make right.
Satan'south dark army loves to fight in nighttime places — places where it is easy to trip and fall. But God wants u.s.a. to stand strong in mighty shoes: the shoes of the Gospel! Satan tries to steal the peace of God from our lives, attacking the states with worry. He wants us to believe that we may slip at whatever time, and fall in battle. Merely the Good News of Jesus is powerful. Information technology teaches u.s.a. that no basis is too dangerous for God's soldiers. For God's love puts our feet on solid ground; it helps us to stand up potent.
One of Satan'south most mortiferous weapons are his words. They are evil lies. Ephesians tells us these words are similar arrows attack fire. Satan shoots these arrows through the darkness and aims them at our hearts. A single pointer can set our whole center on burn down with fear or worry. Simply God has given united states of america the shield of faith to defend ourselves. Faith tin can cake every evil word Satan shoots our way. And our faith is potent because our faith is in Jesus. He is the strongest of kings, the greatest of champions. He destroys every weapon of our enemy.

The Bible describes Satan as a dragon, and many people are too scared to face him in battle. Only God has given His soldiers a mighty weapon: the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. This is the ane weapon Satan cannot fight confronting. There is no other weapon similar it. Information technology was made by God'south Holy Spirit. Information technology teaches us soldiers how to fight, it leads united states in true worship, and it reveals to u.s.a. the future — and information technology is the future that Satan fears near. For the Bible ends with God defeating Satan, throwing him in prison forever! Satan'southward strength is no match for the perfect power of God's Word.
To put on the whole armor of God, is to put on Jesus. And then, in our boxing, in that location is nothing more important than knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Through Jesus, the battle has already been won! Jesus defeated Satan when He died on the cantankerous and rose again. In that moment, light conquered darkness one time and for all time.
